New Green Lantern creative teams and new title announced

Recently it was announced that the landmark Geoff Johns 100+ issue Green Lantern era was over, and a whole new creative team wold be brought aboard the line. Well, the news is out, a new team of fearless creators has been announced—in brightest convention appearance, in blackest message board meltdown, no storyline will escape rewrites. When last we left Cerebus creator Dave Sim, he was contemplating a grim existence as his declining productivity and shrinking market place left him few recourses to make a living. Fortunately for all, he was saved from a life of dining on Fancy Feast by a Kickstarter campaign, the arrival of cover work from IDW and an agreement to publish a print version of the digital High Society, whatever that is. And now, as he discusses in a post at A MOMENT OF CEREBUS, he’s found a new way to make money: selling artwork.
Green Brain Comics to reopen today after SUV crash

On Sunday, our pals at Green Brain Comics in Dearborn were shocked upon awakening to find a mini-van had crashed into their store. Although it looked dramatic, and took out an 8-foot long shelf of kids comics —and a bathroom, setting off a flood— the shop was in good enough shape to reopen today.

Up until the internet made magazines go away, TRIPWIRE was one of the UK’s best comics-related publications, with solid features and great art direction. Since it ceased regular publication, editor Joel Meadows has assembling a deluxe hardcover anniversary edition, and he’s now got a Kickstarter underway for a TRIPWIRE 21st anniversary. It will be a handsome, wide ranging affair, as you can see from more examples on Meadows’ blog:
Telegemeier announces Smile follow-up, Sisters

While cartoonist Raina Telgemeier has been revealing a few details of her next graphic novel on her tour for Drama, Publishers Weekly made it official: her next book will be a companion of sorts to the autobiographical Smile. Called Sisters it deals with “the inner workings of [Telgemeier’s] family,” specifically, her relationship with her young sister, which as you can see from the above artwork posted on her blog, wasn’t always smooth sailing.
