One of its early hits but on hiatus for a while, ARMY OF DARKNESS is coming back from Dynamite in a new series with a new female Ash who wears her underwear 2005-style. Based on the EVIL DEAD trilogy, the new series is by writer Elliot Serrano and artist Marat Mychaels.

The Evil Dead is a trilogy of horror films created by Sam Raimi. The films focus on the protagonist, Ashley “Ash” J. Williams, played by Bruce Campbell, who deals with “deadites”, which are undead antagonists created by the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis. Released in 1992, Army of Darkness is the last film in the franchise so far, taking Ash back in time to England in 1300 AD.

Though really, it’s simply a badly drawn woman. It’s a drawing based on drawing from the worst of the 90s, not actual real people. Unrealistic underwear and disproportionate face are sure signs. At least the other one looks like she’s wearing clothing.
I’m not even that opposed to cheesecake. I’m just tired of it being badly done. Hell, the other day I almost bought an X-men comic for the Art Adams Emma Frost alone. Now there’s an artist who is stylized and cartoony, but still gives characters weight and makes them feel realistic.

Oh and Bruce Campbell and Sam Rami still refuse to give these comics any regard. I still regret getting Brice to sign one of those books because I thought it’d be easier to put up on the wall than a DVD. He doesn’t even sign them anymore. Now I need to get him to sign a VHS tape.
