Variety are reporting on a few early casting movements being made by Sony ahead of production starting for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which is planned to eventually become a trilogy. In addition to the current main pairing of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone (as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy respectively) comes news that Sony are now starting up talks to cast Mary Jane Watson and Harry Osborn in the movie.
While Variety don’t yet have anybody attached to the Harry Osborn role (Oscorp already exists in the new movie universe, remember, and Harry’s presence looks ominous for Gwen); allegedly talks have already started with actress Shailene Woodley for the role of Mary Jane. Most well-known for her performance in The Descendents, Woodley would be a pretty good choice for the iconic role, don’t you think?
Nothing confirmed as of yet, so tigers worldwide will have to wait and see as to whether they have hit the jackpot.
