.

Just as DC publishes actual catalogs, so does Marvel.

Here is a sampling from about 300 titles, some of which are duplicated, as paperback editions might quickly follow a hardcover.

This is a long list, so it’ll be down-and-dirty, with not much editing on my part. If you want better descriptions or covers, search the web. Most of these titles have been transmitted to various bookseller websites.  All information that follows is from the publisher. [Except for comments from me.] If you don’t like what you see, it’s not my fault.

The most interesting titles are the “Season One” original graphic novels.  Marvel does not usually produce original graphic novels, preferring to use periodical serialization to cover the cost of production, as well as encouraging readers to buy the same story twice.  That these original graphic novels are a new retelling (rebooting?) of popular characters is even more interesting.  Will each series be self-contained?  Will there be second volumes?  Are these volumes being primarily marketed to bookstores and libraries?  Will Marvel keep these titles in print longer than is typical for a Marvel title?

Oh, yeah, I’m a bookseller during the day. Nothing I write here as a comics evangelist has anything to do with my secret identity. Also, EVERYTHING here is subject to change.

  1. FYI, the contents on the Spider-Man Fights Substance Abuse and X-Men: Dark Phoenix Saga books have changed pretty significantly from the solicitations.

Short version: most of the Spider-Man giveaway stories were replaced with classic content, and most of the X-Men backups were moved to the next Masterworks softcover.
