Dynamite Entertainment have announced that they will be launching a new division, Dynamite Toys and Games, which will be producing board games, action figures, card games and other merchandise based on their comics.

Announced as part of the Dallas Toy Fair, this means the company will now be producing merchandise based on several of their comics – including some of their franchises. Amongst their plans are properties including Red Sonja, Army of Darkness, Chaos Comics and Vampirella, as well as other properties like The Six Million Dollar Man.

Dynamite’s ten-year anniversary will be in 2014, so the company seem set on making sure that it’s pretty memorable. They have partnerships lined up with various board game companies, card companies, toy companies, and so forth – I imagine the Vampirella stuff in particular might prove popular, if they set it up right.

Also in the announcement is news that they will be reinstating their Eternal Toys brand, which is associated with their Chaos Comics property. This’ll mean action figures and other merchandise for characters like Evil Ernie, Jade, Purgatori, Lady Demon, and so on. This all seems very promising – Dynamite have generated quite a lot of well-known IP over the last decade, and it certainly makes sense for the company to start pushing some of that into other quarters.

The press release seems to indicate a long-term plan for this new division, building into several other events through 2014 and 2015, like the 40-year anniversary of The Six Million Dollar Man, followed by the 45-year anniversary of Vampirella.
