Another birthday being celebrated today is the web collective ACT-I-VATE which launched six years ago. Meaning a baby born that day would now be in school. Yikes.
Founder Dean Haspiel celebrates here. It’s been six years of some outstanding comics and memorable parties; THE ACT-I-VATE PRIMER is a really gorgeous book well worth tracking down if you don’t have a copy.

Thanks for the good wishes. ACTIVATEcomix has a whole raft of new material launching this month to celebrate the 6th Anniversary. Some new work from new ACTIVATE members and some returning old favourites.
Monday the 20th sees the return of Jim Dougan & Hyeondo Park’s ‘Sam & Lilah AND Leland Purvis’ much loved “Vulcan & Vishnu”
Wednesday the 22nd sees the debut of Darryl Cunningham’s ‘The Fist’ a satire on extreme right wing superheroics.
Friday the 24th of February sees the launch of ‘The Texas Kid’ a brand new story by Ashes & Xmen Artist Igor Kordey. This will be the first multi-lingual ACTIVATEcomix presentation as it will appear in English,French and his native Croatian. This is something we plan to do more of.
