  1. Both the Obama and McCain comics are informative and have fairly good art (I would have loved to have seen Paul Gulacy doing the Obama one though!). Is it just me or is cover artist J Scott Campbell’s art looking more and more like bad caricature?

  2. Not part of the comics promotion, but for those of you in the Phoenix area, Jeff Mariotte will be appearing at the Poisoned Pen bookstore in Scottsdale, Arizona on Saturday, Oct 11th at 2 pm along with other local authors. Not sure if there will be copies of the comic available there, but you’d think Jeff would bring some.

Also, in San Diego at Mysterious Galaxy, IDW Special Projects Editor Scott Dunbier, and cover artist J. Scott Campbell will be there tonight at 7 pm.

  3. Yes, my friend, a vote for John McCain is a vote for the status quo. The Republican Party, after all, is your friend & always looking out for your best interests. Why look at the strides we’ve made in the last eight years! A balanced budget, affordable health care for all Americans, headway towards new forms of energy & less dependence on foreign oil, a healthy economy & booming job market – and let’s not forget the capture & trial of Osama bin Laden. Boy, if they hadn’t nabbed his ass right away, the government would probably be wiretapping phones, searching through everybody’s luggage at the airport & forced to restrict all kinds of freedoms.

So honestly – with Bush’s approval rating at an all-time high & corporate America joining hands with Wall Street (to cut back on CEO salaries & overblown tax breaks) the middle-class majority prospers now like never before. With this in mind, my friends why WOULDN’T you vote for a patronizing… I mean patriotic war-hero like John McCain?

Only a dullard would suggest otherwise.

And what a progressive maverick we have in this man! To be so thoughtful as to pick a female running-mate! But it doesn’t stop there! No, my friends – Not only is she a woman, but thanks to the Bush Administration’s policies concerning affordable education, she has earned three Ph.D’s in just 5 years and is a staunch advocate for civil & human rights to boot! What a warm, caring fellow to give someone right out of the halls of academia the opportunity to run this great nation, should he drop over dead from the cruel ravages of time. How he must love her – and US, too – to show such kindness & familiarity with the “common folk”.

Then again, what else could you expect from a man who donated all seven of his houses to struggling families in need?

    McCain: A true American hero!

    What?

Why are you looking at me like that??

    This IS Earth-23, right?

    Right!??

  4. I went at lunch!

  5. Matt Kaufman says:

    Mark of Earth 23:

Yes, yes, Obama will solve all earthly problems, and usher in a new era of Camelot, minus the prostitutes and pain killers. Believe it. McCain is a bad, bad man. Oh, and old too.
