The lady X-Men led the single issue sales charts for May, while kids comics made a strong showing on the graphic novel chart, with Adventure Time or My Little Pony coming in at 1, 5 and 7. Superman charted with the paperback versions of Earth One V.1 and Action Aomics V.1. The Walking Dead and Saga both had strong backlist showings.
Marvel Comics led DC fairly decisively again, 33.36% to 28.27% in dollars and 37.44% to 30.84% in units, but DC narrowed the gap. Image was a strong #1 yet again, but down from their near 10% share last month.
Overall sales were up in double digits for the year, and up from April but fairly flat from May 2012. I’m sure John Jackson Miller will be along in a minute to tell us what it all means.

Interesting, but what happened to the April DC sales charts? We got the Marvel and Indies ones, but no DC.
If you want to know what happened to the April DC sales chart please direct your inquires to @comiks_debris on Twitter.
M-O says he’ll finish them this weekend.
This may not be the time or the place, and Heidi is certainly not obligated to answer this question, but as a fan of this site I want to ask…is Frisch doing ok? His presence on this site has felt a little erratic.
In fairness to M-O, he doesn’t do this for a living and has been very busy with freelance projects and there’s a big comics event in Munich this week.
Got it, cool.
A little filler for all who miss Mark’s column: One thing Mark has been doing last weekend is having a little discussion with Lee Bermejo on Before Watchmen and ethics:
