Gosh! Via this probably-behind-a-firewall story from Variety, news that cult classic NAPOLEON DYNAMITE is turning toon for Fox:

Fox has ordered six episodes of “Dynamite,” which will be voiced by Jon Heder and other thesps who starred in the original 2004 live-action comedy. Jared Hess, Jerusha Hess and “Simpsons” alum Mike Scully are the scribes and exec producers for 20th Century Fox TV.

The other series, “Allen Gregory,” comes from 20th and Chernin Entertainment and has a seven-episode order. Laffer revolves around the titular character, described as a famous seven-year-old who faces the greatest challenge of his life when he has to attend elementary school with regular kids.

  1. Does Fox really think a six-year-old movie (that feels like it’s at least a decade old now) will have a big television audience?
Then again, this is the same channel where -three- Seth McFarlane cartoons show on Sunday nights.

  2. Two episodes will air before being unceremoniously canceled, and they’ll dump the rest on a dvd that will be in bargain bins for 2 bucks before the end of the year.

  3. Yuri – Any hipster worth their derisive sneer will tell you that they always hated “Napoleon Dynamite”. Of course, they are wrong. They liked it until they found out a lot of people liked it.
