The Associated Press has reported that 56-year-old Peter Robbins, the original voice of Charlie Brown in the “Peanuts” animated specials, was sentenced yesterday to a year in the slammer for threatening his former girlfriend and stalking her plastic surgeon.
Prosecutors have said Robbins called the former girlfriend as many as 37 times over 24 hours, threatening to kill her and her son if she didn’t return his dog and car. He allegedly followed the plastic surgeon, calling her office so frequently that she moved to a hotel and hired an armed guard. Prosecutors said he demanded a refund for his ex-girlfriend’s breast enhancement.
“Don’t be a blockhead,” Superior Court Judge Dwayne Moring said to the once “fun-loving” voice actor before throwing the book at him.
Fortunately, the judge’s ruling was recorded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss2hULhXf04
This beats the Jodi Arias hearing by a long shot.
Boo on the prison rape joke.
I do wonder sometimes if I’ll live long enough to hear the end of tittering jokes about shower rape.
Good Grief…
This is going to give me a whole new level of pathos to the line “Augh! Everything I touch gets ruined,” when I watch the Xmas special this year.
Boo on the prison rape joke. Yes, that goes for me too. This is not what I signed up for, when I came to write for The Beat. I doubt any of the rest of us did either.
Aaugh!
Good Grief!
