From the makers of the Asbury Park ComicCon, it’s the New York Comic Fest, held at the Westchester County Center in White Plains. Guest list is here, including Mark Waid, Scott Snyder, Evan Dorkin and many other folks. As with Asbury Park, this is an old school comics only event; it’s also a first time show, drawing on the Westchester community, so I hope it gets the support it deserves.
Here’s an interview with the show runners. Special activities include a Spotlight on Batman’s 75th Anniversary, a costume contest, and a casting call for Comic Book Men.
A casting crew from AMC / Original Media will be on hand at New York Comic Fest, looking for people to appear on Season 4 of COMIC BOOK MEN . AMC’s unscripted hit series entertains its audience by following the antics in and around master fanboy Kevin Smith’s Red Bank, New Jersey comic shop, Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash (more about the show here).
Robert Bruce, a cast member and segment producer for the show said, “This could be someone’s lucky chance to be on ‘Comic Book Men’, the venue is only about 90 minutes from where we shoot in Red Bank, NJ, so we feel this is a great opportunity to find people to appear on the show.”
