The 72-year old star was found dead in a hotel room in Bangkok where he was filming his latest film.
The son of great character actor John Carradine, and brother of Robert and Keith, David Carradine was best known for his roles in the TV show Kung Fu and film Kill Bill. The prolific actor starred in over 100 other movies. After studying kung fu for his signature role as Kwai Chang Caine in Kung Fu, Carradine retained a lifelong interest in martial arts and Eastern philosophy.
Update: Sad details emerging.
Very sad news. It feels like I’ve been on the receiving end of the Five-Fingered Exploding Heart Technique.
Rest In Peace, David.
Can’t believe Machine Gun Joe outlived Frankenstein. R.I.P.
Sad to think someone finally snatched the pepple out of his hand.
One of the most awesomely surreal and strangely entertaining evenings of my life happened about 4 years ago when I was at Dragon*Con. One of the hotels the con is in has an upstairs piano bar, where I was sitting with some other artists, and in walked David Carradine with a small group. He proceeded to sit at the piano to play and sing for the rest of the evening. It wasn’t great, but it WAS – Carradine. RIP to an original and truly unique entertainer.
Sorry to hear of David Carradine’s death. I enjoyed watching his work, the most memorable for me being the first Kung Fu TV series
I am so very saddened to hear of his death. He was, and will always be, one of my favorites.
Excellent photographs of David but we missed him.
