I just heard Michael Crichton passed away last night as well. First Studs, then Toot, and now this. Many great people passing this week.
I always thought her name looked strange…. maybe backwards??
AMY CAMUS.
I’m ashamed to say that the only reason I know her name is because it keeps popping up as crossword puzzle answers. The first time I heard her singing voice was when NPR played it while reporting her death.
I saw her obituary in my local paper the other day. All I could think was, ‘who the hell is she?’.
That’s a bummer. I’m a fan, and have several of her records. Check out this song:
The greatest singer of all time has just gone to heaven. Yma Sumac – thank you for sharing that wonderful voice with the world.

And don’t forget the other recent music demise: Jimmy Carl Black, original drummer for the Mothers of Invention.
