Yet another carnival! This one, as we understand it, is set up next to the Gaslamp Hilton in that area where the Scott Pilgrim Experience once stood. It’s a video game arcade set up by ShiftyLook. Facilitated by NAMCO Entertainment Inc. of Chicago, the ShiftyLook Freeplay Arcade boasts Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug and over a dozen other arcade games. Located across the street from the San Diego Convention Center at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quater’s beautifully spacious terrace, the arcade will open at 12:00PM daily and close at 6:00PM on Thursday, 10:00PM on Friday and Saturday, and 8:00PM on Sunday.
Kicking-off the convention on Thursday night will be ShiftyLook Presents the Most Retro Comic-Con Party (Ever!), taking over the arcade and entire terrace of the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter, with ShiftyLook partners, press and comic creators present for a night of festivities. • Among nerdlebrities, Zackary Levi, formerly of Chuck has got to be one of the savviest where Comic-Con is concerned. He’s set up his own mini-convention called NerdHQ, with a ton of celebrity signings — from Dolph Lundgren to Stan Lee. And you have to buy a separate ticket for them all. Genius. As near as we can make out, it’s right next door to Tr!ckster, so the nerdlebrities better keep it down.
