Henry “Hemi” Barajas gave you the particulars on the DC/KIA Justice League Sorento custom design, but there are many more Comic-Con car events happening!

2014-Kia-Sorento-Justice-League-Jim-Lee-custom-artwork-2-1500x996But before we leave DC, here are some more pics, courtesy of Motortrend.

The Sorento joins seven other custom Kias, including vehicles representing Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Cyborg. Like the Aquaman- and Flash-themed cars, the Justice League Sorento was modified with help from West Coast Customs. Lee said during the press conference, “The chief creative challenge was bringing the characters to life through the car.” To help in that mission, West Coast Customs carefully replicated the Lee-penned artwork by hand with an airbrush.

Just in case you were wondering about the seating:  Superman drives, Batman is shotgun (I wonder if he controls the radio, or if Cyborg is bluetoothed to the stereo?).  Behind Batman is Wonder Woman, Green Lantern in the middle, and Flash behind Supes.
Stuck in the back: Aquaman and Cyborg.

My only criticism: the comic book panels paneling looks like bad bed linen.
.
As “B.A.” mentioned, it’s up for auction on eBay.  Opening bid: $35,000.  (But good luck finding a Mylar sleeve that size!)
Too pricey?
How would you like to own a replica of the Delorean from “Back to the Future”?  $35.
21103_backSelected by LEGO® CUUSOO members, this amazing model features lots of cool details, like opening gull-wing doors, fold-up wheels, flux capacitor, time travel display and two license plates. Also included are extra components and wheels so you can recreate the different variants of the time-traveling car featured in the Back to the Future movies! Finally, this unique set also includes a fascinating booklet containing production notes, original images and fun details from the movies. Includes two mini-figures—Marty McFly and Doc Brown, and Marty’s skateboard.
What the heck is “Cuusoo“?  Well, in the case of LEGO, it’s a bit like a Kickstarter project for LEGO fans.  Once a project hits 10,000 supporters, it’s reviewed by staff for possible production.

Not everything gets built.  Like this massive Sandcrawler.  (Click on the “description” tag for photos!)  But four designs have been approved, two of which are licensed; the other is a Minecraft set!
Motortrend also reports on this year’s The Walking Dead mobile from Hyundai.
.
Those who read my reports last year will remember the first iteration, a modified Hyundai Elantra Coupe.
Hyundai-Veloster-Zombie-Survival-Machine-Walking-DeadThis year, a Hyundai Veloster was modified, it
is finished in a textured “Vitamin C” orange, and gets a sawtoothed front grille, hood scoop, forged wheels, and an off-road-style rear bumper. Modifications that might help thwart brain-hungry zombies attempting to enter the Veloster include a glasshouse framed by armor (or fully covered, as is the case with the windshield), wrought iron bars and barbed wire across the windows, and sandbags strapped to the hood. Driving this Zombie-fighting compact may require seeing out of the hatch on top, as front visibility is obstructed, to say the least.
You gotta wonder about the wheels…  I guess snow tires and/or chains would be helpful, but they need either coverage, or those twirling lathes seen in “Grease”.  I also hope it’s a hybrid.
Then there’s cosplay.
Here we have an impressive Vanellope Van Schweetz!
