Shadowman's "Blackout" Cover and The Eternal Warrior at Baltimore

The Blackout cover for Shadowman #1

Valiant’s roll out continues.  If you’re familiar with the original, you caught an Eternal Warrior reference in the first issues of Archer and Armstrong.  Sure enough, on Saturday’s Valiant panel at the Baltimore Comic-Con (2PM), there’s going to be an announcement about “Wrath of the Eternal Warrior.”  Also some surprise guests.  Given that Valiant’s creative teams are fairly diverse, it’s hard to tell who’s going to be popping up next.  Figure at least one of them will have done a reasonable amount of work at Marvel.

A while back, we mentioned that Shadowman was coming back.  Valiant likes to get people to sign up for pullboxes/in-store subscriptions, so they’re offering a “blackout” cover if you use their in-store subscription form.

Valiant’s released the colored and lettered preview pages, which follow the press release.  It seems the Master Darque’s role as big bad is front and center in the reboot.  It also turns out Patrick Zircher has a co-writer credit on this.

  1. So my comic shop charges you WAY more for all variant covers. I wonder if the pullbox variants would result in a higher price point, or if in this case it’s a “bonus” coming from Valiant to it’s customers… hmm.
