  1. Sigh…iOnly? Nothing for us Android-relying-upon Kobo Vox users? Because I would’ve loved to try Saturn Apartments…

  2. I know this is slightly off topic, but since we’re talking about Viz publishing has anyone heard any word on ‘Children of the Sea’ by Daisuke Igarashi? It was being published by their Signature Ikki line and it seems to have disappeared. Is it coming back anytime soon?

  3. According to the SigIkki blog back in Sept:

“Hopefully in the new year. The series went on hiatus for a while in Japan (Igarashi-san was working on other projects), but it started up again a few months ago.”

And according to ANN back in Aug:

“The October issue of Shogakukan’s Monthly Ikki magazine is announcing on Thursday that Daisuke Igarashi is ending his Children of the Sea (Kaijū no Kodomo) manga in the next issue on September 24.”

The hiatus would account for the delay and according to an interview back in 2008:

“As I see it today, there should be five volumes in total.”

So it looks like a final fifth volume sometime this year. I hope more of his work makes it over here in the future.

  4. Thank you JK, this really makes my day! For anyone who hasn’t read Children of the Sea, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s as beautiful as it is strange.
