While Stan Lee’s canceling of some appearances has led to all the anxiety and speculation that one might expect for a man his age, the Facebook page for the Comikaze Expo, which he owns, has some information from closer at hand:

It sucks Stan had to cancel, but you know the man doesn’t just do conventions. he puts in a hard days work creating. Its really sad that the Toledo Blade had to go spread nonsense. If you want to be up to date on stan then follow us, cuz he kinda owns our company. Its sad that a some blogs are scaring fans. not really nice.

ps we had a milkshake with him on saturday. that should tell you it all there!

And in a comment further down the page spells it out:

he is totally fine.

So there.

The photo above, from Stan’s own Facebook page, also features Amanda Conner in a skunk costume.

In other Stan Lee news, here he is hanging out with Apolo Anton Ohno and Jenna Busch.

Yeah I never expected to see that, either.

  1. Yeah, I’m from the Toledo area. The Blade is KNOWN to cause unnecessary confusion and BS. More reason for my Blog WTFToledoBlade LOL.

  2. I was so looking forward to seeing him at the Mid-Ohio Con in Columbus this weekend. He was the major reason to go, mostly because I’m not sure how many opportunities I’ll have to meet Stan Lee in the Midwest again. Disappointing, but glad you’re doing well, Stan!

  3. Excelsior! He looked great at Baltimore Comic Con and am glad to think this might have all been hype (I mean he came out shouting “Let the good times ROLLLL! for Pete’s sake). I don’t think it’s odd that he optimistically makes a lot of bookings, then wisely cuts them back if he needs to. It’s also possible that some cancellations don’t have to do with him so much as family or friends, stuff he may not be public about.

  4. “My milkshake brings all the fan boys to the yard..”

Ohno is cool and all but look on YouTube for him singing a duet with Peter Murphy the other week at Murphy’s show in LA.

Okay, them singing “That Old Black Magic” was terrible. I really wish Stan came out in a cheesy Dracula outfit and sang “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”. :)

    Be well, Stan!!

  5. As a senior adult, he can do whatever he wants or not…. but given that he’s such a major draw, it’s a shame that he canceled on the only major convention that occurs in this part of the country. I know a lot of fanboys that would be crushed that Stan The Man didn’t show for our event. Bummer.

Be well, Stan. See you in the next Marvel movie cameo…
