§ A Wimpy Kid movie? Wow, why didn’t I think of that! More casting news here. Steve Zahn is joining star Zachary Gordon (above) with Thor Freudenthal directing. Zahn and Rachael Harris portraying his parents. Robert Capron will portray his best friend, and Devon Bostick will play his brother.

§ Option of the day: Top Cow’s ALIBIi:

Comicbook, published last year, centers on a well-known socialite whose public presence establishes a perfect alibi for the covert activity of his secret twin brother, a government assassin. “Alibi” was created by Top Cow president Matt Hawkins and Michael Renegar, written by Joshua Hale Fialkov and illustrated by Jeremy Haun. Top Cow CEO and founder Marc Silvestri will exec produce the feature project along with Hawkins and Mandeville VP David Manpearl.

  1. re: Priest, the Korean comic by Minwoo is amazing, and Bettany is some great casting, but the plot of the film has virtually no similarities to the comics. It’s a case where the screenplay was written before the license was brought in. At least the cross-shaped scar and art direction informed the poster!

    Minwoo’s original comic is a Sergio Leone/Prophecy/Rob Zombie mashup involving fallen angels in the old west. Definitely worth checking out, even though the creator never got around to drawing the final volumes.

    Holy crap.. Priest news…. Aw crap.. it’s one of those adaptations. Great. A second TokyoPop adaptation that has next to nothing to do with the manga/manhwa. Lament of the Lamb being the other abortion of a book they want to put to ffilm.
