Tweet Last week, I came across this image on Google Plus, and a lengthy (200+, multiple days) discussion ensued. Who would win? The USS Enterprise, or an Imperial Star Destroyer? Well, in the sake of universal peace among two very disparate yet similar geek tribes (or possibly a flame war for the ages), I will […]
Tweet Tumblr, Twitter and what was left of LiveJournal reacted with shock and then outrage this morning as news of a deleted shower scene starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the new Star Trek film was revealed. Star Trek Into Darkness director JJ Abrams made the shocking revelation on the Conan O’Brien show, and showed a brief […]
TweetOnce again, it’s that time of year again! Sports geeks speculate who will make the Big Dance, who got snubbed, and who will be the Cinderella Team this year. Billions of dollars are wagered on the outcomes, as casual fans contemplate the 68 teams and fill out numerous brackets. It’s not uncommon among comics fans […]
TweetFriday is art day! Friday is also the harbinger of the weekend, but who cares about that? Instead, take a look at all the pretty pictures I gathered for you from the shady, cob-webby corners of the Internet you dare not venture… (I can’t say more) FF by Mike Allred (you HAVE to click on this to […]

From left-to-right, we have Scott Bakula, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew, Sir Patrick Stewart, and William Shatner: This is the first time they’re […]

A brief apology for posting this but the Star Trek nerd in me could NOT help myself. Many a weekend was spent in my youth attending the Star Trek conventions with my mom at the Plaza hotel in Las Vegas, the highlight of course was meeting Brent Spiner and Michael Dorn (Lieutenant Commanders Data and Worf).

TweetHere’s a comic from my brothers’ collection, the type of comic kids read back in the 1960s and 70s. We didn’t care about condition or collectibility, we just read the comics, tossed them in a cupboard somewhere, and maybe re-read them when we were bored. That pile never got in the way, never got too […]

The following is a selection of new comics titles due to be published in October 2010. This list is not comprehensive, as there are over 275 books scheduled. These are just the titles which caught my eye. If you would like to browse forthcoming comic strip books at your leisure, click here. Instead, I have selected titles which caught my interest. These are not necessarily titles I will purchase, but which I will definitely look at once they arrive at my local comics shop or bookstore.
