It begins. We’ve been hearing a ton o’ rumors about comics companies jumping aboard iVerse—probably the second largest dedicated digital comics platform—in the wake of Amazon’s acquisition of Comixology. While Amazon is great at selling books, publishers want to avoid a Hachette-like stand off and other weight throwing maneuvers that Amazon is known for. While it’s […]
By Alexander Jones Valiant is an incredibly dynamic and interesting superhero publisher that isn’t afraid to take risk after risk with their properties. Comics Beat had the opportunity to sit down with some of the brightest minds working at the comics company including Joshua Dysart (Harbinger: Armor Hunters & Harbinger: Omegas), Robert Venditti (X-O Manowar […]
Word on the street is that Valiant has a lot of new stuff coming down the pike, and perhaps to run the paving machine for both the street and the pike, they’ve promoted Warren Simons to Editor-in-Chief. His previous title was Executive Editor. Since the company’s relaunch in 2011, Wimons has been in charge of book including X-O Manowar, Harbinger, Bloodshot, Archer & Armstrong, Unity, Rai, and more. In his new role as Editor-in-Chief, Simons will continue to preside over all day-to-day operations of Valiant’s editorial department, and manage Valiant’s growing editorial team, which was just boosted by the addition of former DC assistant editor Kyle Andrukiewicz. CBR has the promotion interview that has a nice snapshot of Valiant’s progress so far:

Valiant have absolutely blitzed it today, announcing a new initiative which will see a new series launch every month right through until September. Amongst the announcements are a Quantum & Woody/Archer & Armstrong crossover, and new books by Jen Van Meter, Matt Kindt, Doug Braithwaite, Joe Harris, Roberto De La Torre and Clayton Crain.
Valiant have been trying a lot of new tricks this last year, with crossovers now a tried and true part of their comics universe. And now it’s been announced that 2014 will see another crossover kick off, as Bloodshot and The H.A.R.D. Corps will enter the world of Archer and Armstrong for a four-issue storyline.
Valiant have announced that 2014 will see a number of zero issues published, each detailing the origin of certain characters within their shared universe. And although most are just what you’d expect – Archer #0, H.A.R.D. Corps #0 – one of them will be Goat #0 by James Asmus and Tom Fowler. Oh dear.
