The other day I was prepping for a talk on marketing at an NYU publishing class, and reached out to the Twitosphere to ask what were “the notable comics marketing success stories over the last year” and the Twitosphere responded with a bunch of smart and savvy suggestions:
TweetValiant have been trying a lot of new tricks this last year, with crossovers now a tried and true part of their comics universe. And now it’s been announced that 2014 will see another crossover kick off, as Bloodshot and The H.A.R.D. Corps will enter the world of Archer and Armstrong for a four-issue storyline.
TweetValiant have announced that 2014 will see a number of zero issues published, each detailing the origin of certain characters within their shared universe. And although most are just what you’d expect – Archer #0, H.A.R.D. Corps #0 – one of them will be Goat #0 by James Asmus and Tom Fowler. Oh dear.

Take comics further this New York Comic Con 2013 at the comiXology booth (#1928) with a host of exclusive giveaways, signings, offers and panels happening all convention long. ComiXology has produced in conjunction with Image Comics, IDW Publishing and Valiant a series […]
TweetIt looks like the week prior to ‘NYCC’ has become the new ‘NYCC’, as Valiant have just sent out a teaser image suggesting that they’re going to be doing something with the original Quantum & Woody team. Are they referring to the characters, or to the creative team of Christopher Priest and Mark Bright, with […]
TweetValiant’s editors were talking about something strange on Twitter yesterday. Boom’s editors were doing the same today. They kept going on about cars and something called #NYCCKOTR, which nobody would explain when I asked about it. Well! Today this weird list of letters has been revealed to be New York Comic Con: King of the […]
Tweet Valiant has just announced it’s teaming with Mexican publisher Kamite to distribute a new line of Spanish-language versions of the Valiant line. Foreign publishing deals are a smart way to cut your creative costs down and develop new audiences. The Mexican comics industry is probably most familiar to American audiences via the lurid “photonovelas” […]
TweetValiant Comics have been building up an exclusive roster of creators over the last few months. From writer Joshua Drysart to artists Doug Braithwaite and Trevor Hairsine, the company have a number of creatives on exclusive contract. But unlike any other company I can think of, they didn’t stop with announcing writers and artists – […]
TweetValiant have sent round a few press releases this week, each clarifying more detail about their upcoming Unity storyline. Formerly thought to be a major crossover event, then a miniseries, and now revealed as a new ongoing team-up book; the company have also announced a number of variant covers and that the book will be […]
TweetOn Free Comic Day Valiant teased the future of their comics line, revealing they’d be starting up new ongoing series for characters Ninjak and The Eternal Warrior, as well as something called ‘Unity’. Previously the name of a major crossover event from Valiant past, today the company have released two teaser images which mark down […]
When Valiant Entertainment came back, they wanted to make a splash—with strong content, memorable characters and regular shipping. And luge. Because everyone loves luging and lugers. For those who are not winter sport aficionados, this is the sport where people pile into a tiny sled and go feet first down an icy hill. Sometimes two people pile onto the tiny sled.
TweetIt’s been a while since I had a chance to properly crack into some reviews, so you’re getting a bit of an all-star lineup of books up on the slate this week. First up will be the very talked-about Young Avengers, the not-talked-about-enough Flash, and the talkative Quantum & Woody. I’d be interested to see […]
