TweetToday at Marvel’s X-Men panel, a new crossover has been announced between Uncanny X-Men, All-New X-Men, Wolverine & the X-Men, and X-Men. Written between Brian Michael Bendis, Jason Aaron and Brian Wood, this storyline will be called ‘Battle of the Atom’. The story will see a team of X-Men from the future show up, whose [...]

Tweet Brian Wood and Oliver Coipel’s relaunch of X-Men with Jubilee, Storm, Rogue, Rachel Grey, Kitty Pryde and the other one has been moved back slightly, from April to May. The new publication date will be May 29th. This is due to a bereavement, and Brian Wood has posted regarding the decision to hold off [...]

TweetInterviewing Neal Adams over at the New Statesman in the run up to this month’s London Super Comic Con, we chatted about his legendary role in providing greater creator rights for all within the comics industry, his own start in comics, and pushing comics in a more “relevant” direction.

TweetFriday is art day! Friday is also the harbinger of the weekend, but who cares about that? Instead, take a look at all the pretty pictures I gathered for you from the shady, cob-webby corners of the Internet you dare not venture… (I can’t say more) FF by Mike Allred (you HAVE to click on this to [...]

TweetHello and welcome! We are starting a weekly art thingy and have -rather thoughtfully- set it for Friday, that interminable day where the weekend is within touching distance and yet you still have to be at work. Hence, pretty and cool stuff that will help tide you over- forget words, just feast your eyes. This [...]

TweetMarvel’s solicitations for May are sneaking out, but the first thing that caught my attention – Amanda Conner providing art for Marvel, in the form of this variant cover for issue #2 of Brian Wood and Oliver Coipel‘s adjectiveless X-Men series. Whew! Long sentence. We get a look at all the team being all classy [...]

TweetAnother week where I purposely ignore Saga! What devilry is this? Surely answers must be forthcoming.

TweetTwo of the stronger X-Men titles during an incredibly strong period for X-Men titles in general, April will sadly see the cancellation of both Greg Pak’s X-Treme X-Men and David Lapham/Robert De La Torre’s Age of Apocalypse.

TweetAs roundly predicted by the internet, Marvel’s ‘XX’ teaser from last week was indeed a relaunch of adjectiveless X-Men. Today, though, USA Today’s comics pin-up Brian Truitt has revealed the lineup. The teaser also reveals that colourist Laura Martin will be bringing Coipel’s work to life.

TweetIt seems so! Marvel have released another one of their one-word teasers today, although this one is less of a word and more of an initialism. This April, Marvel will be releasing what appears to be an X-Men book, written by Brian Wood and drawn by Oliver Coipel.

TweetHere are a few of my favourite things…. Marvel, aware that I demand delight at least once a month, have started releasing ‘X-Men 50th Anniversary’ variant covers for several of their books. The X-Men have – yes – been around for 50 years as of 2013, with Stan Lee’s original vision now old enough to [...]

TweetEd McGuinness delivers a fight between Wolverine and the Nightcrawler from Age of Apocalypse in this new teaser image from Marvel, which seems to be suggesting at the next storyline for Wolverine & The X-Men. Or an upcoming crossover. Or that something magical has happened. One of these things. Read on for speculation as to [...]

TweetOscar winner, Jamie Foxx, is in talks to play Marvel villiain, Electro, for the next installment of Amazing Spiderman. Foxx hinted as such in a Halloween tweet about his costume for the night

TweetMarvel called again tonight, wanting to talk to me about another one of their Marvel Now comics. This time however, their focus was on a continuing series rather than a new relaunch, in the form of Jason Aaron and Nick Bradshaw’s Wolverine & The X-Men. Joining them was editor Nick Lowe, who, yes, sang to himself [...]

Why Maggott Isn’t the Worst X-Men Character of All Time
TweetA few days ago Brett White wrote a passioned defence of teen hearthrob X-Men character Maggott on CBR. Many would mock him for such a claim, and poke him with brightly painted sticks – but no! Put down those ribbon sticks. Maggott is a character worth defending, and I’m going to give some of my own [...]
