Titan Comics have really impressed with their creative and strange promotional tactics. From issuing military files which explained the details of their series ‘Chronos Commandos’ (complete with redactions and compromised photos) to the fake movie trailer for Dan Boultwood’s ‘It Came’, they’ve been trying some really fun and different things. Their latest bit of trickery is for a series called Death Sentence, and it regards the Suicide Girls.

DeathSentence0

Death Sentence is about a virus called G+, an STD which gives people enhanced powers and then, uh, kills them. Written by MontyNero and drawn by Mike Dowling, the six-issue miniseries starts in October. And Titan’s idea for marketing this series is a faked interview with the Suicide Girls website, in which the lead character Verity opens up about having G+ and what it means for her.

It’s a really strange idea, also accompanied with a video about the series which you can find over here. Salty language in the interview and video!

With the big two comic companies turning to big press like our beloved Brian Truitt at USA Today, Nerdist, or the New York Post, it’s interesting to see how companies like Valiant, 2000AD, Monkeybrain and Titan have all been ramping up the creativity and – well – strangeness of their marketing campaigns. I’m enjoying it! Anything might turn up next.
