Somehow we missed the news that marvel is releasing a one shot called A-BABIES VS. X-BABIES #1 which is coming out next month. with a script by Skottie Young and art by Gurihiru. A new variant cover by Chris Eliopoulous has been released. Say what you will about this idea….this is an adorable cover.

Young himself just offered the variant cover below for MARVEL NOW! POINT ONE #1, the all new jumping on point comic for the new Now Marvel thing. It’s interesting to see Marvel cashing in on the whole “superhero cutecore” movement that is so huge on the show circuit, Tumblr and Deviant Art. There’s obviously a huge market for cute versions of superheroes out there and a ton of artists who can deliver.

  1. Torsten Adair says:

Might we see a Gus Beezer mini-series?

  2. Naveed says:

will people realy buy this series? Tak about milking a series..for $4/pop

  3. Apollo9000 says:

Would love it if they made a sketch book with all these A-babies v. X-babies covers. This one-shot is more appealing than some of the upcoming Marvel Now books.

  4. It’s not a series, it’s a one-shot. I for one am WAY more interested in this (Gurihiru art, baby) than anything else Marvel is doing.
