Viz has just released info on some of its spring manga license, including at least one pick-up from the now defnuct CMX line, TENJO TENGE, the very controversial manga by Oh! Great, which will now be printed in a “100% faithful” edition with 16 pages of full-color art. Other licenses include the very popular NURA: RISE OF THE YOKAI CLAN and BLUE EXORCIST. PR below:

  1. Why would you hate manga? Yeah, 90% or more of it is crap, but that could be said for American comics too. You can’t just look at a whole country and say you hate its creative output in the field of comics. There are surely dozens of series that are excellent and right up your alley.

    Anyway, I’m very happy to see Tenjo Tenge is finally coming out uncensored in English. I can’t even express how angry I was at DC at how misguided their CMX line was. Tenjo Tenge was one of the few titles they had I wanted, and they totally screwed it over.

    Sure Tenjo Tenge is full of T&A and is quite a bit on the pulpy side, but Oh! Great’s artwork is stunning.
