Repaneled is a newish blog that recreates classic comics panels in new art styles. Up today:
Anthony Vukojevich’s reimagination of a key panel from Gabrielle Bell’s San Diego Comic-Con Comicumentary.

BTW, 2010 was my first time experiencing the unfettered party insanity that is the Indie Comix Embassy Suites Happy Hour. Long will it haunt my dreams.

BTW, part 2: This blog post title was my official entry into the all-time hardest to spell blog post title derby.

  1. yep, it sorta similar styles. and not knowing about Anthony’s personal life, I hope Gabrielle was okay with this.

  2. Hey Michael….
Gabrielle loved it. I am also a huge fan of Julie Doucet. However, I was trying to emulate the old Little Golden Book illustrators. Like J.P. Miller and Richard Scarry.
They key to me redoing this panel was that I had nearly the same conversation at the same convention.
Also, I wanted to draw Jordan and Johnny since I know them.

  3. The very crux of your writing while appearing agreeable at first, did not work properly with me after some time. Somewhere within the sentences you actually managed to make me a believer but just for a very short while. I nevertheless have got a problem with your leaps in logic and you might do nicely to help fill in those breaks. When you can accomplish that, I will undoubtedly be amazed.
