A lot of news came out of VIZ Media’s Anime Expo 2024 panel for Bleach: The Thousand Year Blood War-The Conflict yesterday. The biggest was the release date for the series. It was announced the third part in what is planned as a four part series, Bleach: The Thousand Year Blood War-The Conflict will premiere in a very busy October 2024. The series will stream in North America on Hulu.
Along with the release date, trailers, key art (see above), and theme songs for the upcoming series debuted at the panel that should sate fans until the October premiere.
Watch the trailer for Bleach: The Thousand Year Blood War: The Conflict below. The trailer also debuts the new opening and ending themes “Kotoba ni Sezu Tomo” (Even if You Don’t Say It) performed by SIX LOUNGE and “Monochrome” by suisoh respectively.
The trailer shows Ichigo Kurokawa’s continuing battle with the Quincy. Ichigo looks like he’s got his hands full as he tries to take on bigger and nastier foes.
Bleach: The Thousand Year Blood War adapts the final arc of Tite Kubo’s long running manga. When the original Bleach anime ended in 2012, it did so without ending where the manga did. This new series premiered in October 2022 to fans hungry for an animated version of that final story. Fan excitement and nostalgia seems reignited with the adventures of Ichigo Kurokawa and the other Soul Reapers once again coming to life.
Fans still have to wait until October for the this part of the story to debut. Until then fans can catch up with or rewatch the first two parts of Bleach: The Thousand Year Blood War currently streaming on Hulu. The original series that aired from 2004 to 2012 is also on Hulu for anyone wanting to start from the beginning.
