Retrofit Comics' Box Brown went to Wizard World Philadelphia for a day and here is what he saw and did.

Sweet Kirby Crackle! It's a busy weekend, with comics shows in: New York, California, Washington, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Maine, Pennsylvania [sic], South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, Pennsylvania (again), and the United Kingdom! They're taking place at colleges, schools, convention centers, hotels, and community centers!

WOW, Creator Rights day on the Internet rolls on with what we might call Stan Lee's Hilary Rosen moment: an unforced error that cannot be rolled back. In an interview with Moviefone, of ALL PLACES, Stan is asked POINT BLANK about whether Jack Kirby should be credited on THE AVENGERS:

When he isn't pacting, Stan Lee is getting awards! This January he'll be present with the Vanguard Award from the Producers Guild of America.

As you all know, Stan Lee pacts the way other people breathe. Based on what we know of publishing data, August 8th, 1961 was the day FANTASTIC FOUR #1 arrived on newsstands. Tom Brevoort sent out a birthday tweet. Although there's talk of boycotts and justified anger over Marvel's shoddy treatment of some of its greatest talent over the years, we should still mark this day. Pairing the protean storytelling of Ditko and Kirby with the breezy populism of Stan Lee created some of the greatest adventure comics that have ever been, and we suspect they'll be read for another 50 years.

All around the world, everyone is pacting with Stan Lee! From Japanese jpop sensation Yoshiki to Pamela Anderson to Boom! Studios to Morgan Spurlock, everyone had done it becuase it's so fun! The legendary Man is the king of pacting -- he's got deals in place with just about every entity out there.

MTV Geek, the news site/comics portal is announcing their new comics content this morning, including The Seekers. Other new comics properties include SEPTEMBER MOURNING with M Lazar, a music/comics hybrid. And also two more tarditional webcomics: Divination, written by Eisner nominee Val Staples and Gina Iorio and illustrated by Julia Laud, and Department P.U.L.P. by Tony Lee and Dan Boultwood.

How many times can one man pact? Stan Lee is pushing the boundaries of human endurance with, interestingly, a story which involves "forces beyond comprehension." This time he's bringing along Todd McFarlane and the duo are teaming with Japanese musical/chat show star Yoshiki for a projects called Blood Red Dragon. Details of the project will be announced at, where else, San Diego. While we're not familiar with Yoshiki's career, based on the photos we found, it appears that Lee and McFarlane may be embarking on their first yaoi project. Which would be fantastic.
