The Amazing Digital Circus is an independent animated series created by Gooseworx and published by Glitch Productions. When I last covered it almost a year ago, it blew up overnight gaining over 20 million views in a week while reaching over 100 million views later that same month. It has since become a worldwide sensation with many fans, fan art, videos, game mods, and more. The biggest surprise, however, was how popular the currently 2-episode long series is in Japan.

Earlier this year in Japan from April 26th to May 12th, there was an Amazing Digital Circus pop up store in Tokyo as well as another in Nagoya from July 5th to the 15th. So it comes as no surprise that eventually its popularity within Japan would lead to the creation of an official Manga. Announced on September 20th, 2024 from the official Amazing Digital Circus Japan X/Twitter account, The Amazing Digital Circus Manga will begin weekly serialization in the December issue of Corocoro Ichiban. Simultaneously it will also be serialized on Corocoro‘s monthly webpage as well. The official Manga’s art will be done by Mangaka Sakura whose previous works include ARMS: Crazy Arms Gag Fight! and A Transmigrated Vampire Would Like to Take a Nap, to name a few of her works.

As of now there is no confirmation as to which publisher will license an English translation of the manga, so for now the Manga will be mostly in Japanese.

It is exciting to see how an independent production became this successful and maintain that popularity after a year. With only 2 episodes out and a third episode set to release on October 4th, the series having a pop up store in Japan and now an official Manga series is just a sign that this wonderful Dark Comedy has left a significant impact on the world and shows no signs of stopping just yet.
