For fans of Archie comics, Jinx Holiday has been getting a reappreciation in the Archie Comics world, mainly because they’ve recast her there as a drummer and a daughter of Satan. Back in the mainline continuity, though, Jinx has usually been portrayed as a kid. But this is no more as of World Of Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #149, where Jinx has been aged up to be Betty and Veronica’s age. Now one of their best pals, she works as an assistant zookeeper in the upcoming Animal Instinct. That expertise ends up becoming material when Veronica adopts a baby hippo and has no idea how to raise it.

You can enjoy a three-page preview for Animal Instinct below, along with a full classic Archie story Bowl Me Over and Jinx’s entry in the Archie Comics EncyclopediaBowl Me Over features Archie trying to charm Veronica with the trendy new sport of disco bowling. Ronnie proves to be a natural — but league play could prove troublesome.

Animal Instinct sports art and writing from Dan Parent, colors from Glenn Whitmore, and letters from Jack Morelli. Bowl Me Over also features art and writing from Parent, inks from Rudy Lapick, and letters from Bill Yoshida. World Of Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #149  debuts on April 2.
