The DC Universe’s greatest mystery in some time — who is Leviathan? — reaches its halfway point this week with Event Leviathan #3. The foundation of this spy thriller is in place. Some villain (maybe?) has destroyed the top espionage organizations in the DCU, and a team of detectives/superheroes has gathered to investigate suspects. This villain (maybe?) is calling themselves Leviathan, making a case that the superheroes have failed and new tactics are needed to combat evil. Their identity, of course, is shrouded, which gives this story a mysterious vibe, putting detective work at its center.

In Event Leviathan #3, out Wednesday, the chief suspect is one Jason Todd aka the Red Hood (Outlaw!) aka a former Robin. Current Robin and son of Batman, Damian Wayne, has accused him of being Leviathan. Now, we get to see the aftermath of that accusation played out. Basically, we get to see Red Hood take on everybody. This 6-part story from writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Alex Maleev is an intriguing one, grown from Bendis’ stellar work on Action Comics. We have some of our own guesses as to who Leviathan might be, but you’ll have to wait for Wednesday’s DC Round-Up to read about all of that.

In the meantime, check out The Beat’s exclusive preview of Event Leviathan #3 following the issue’s solicit:
