DSTLRY is launching a brand-new series in 2025 called Galacticfrom Curt Pires (Indigo Children) and Amilcar Pinna (All-New Ultimates). Described as a Tarantinto-esque erotic sci-fi-blockbuster, the comic follows a bounty hunter on a mission to save a princess who is on a dangerous psychedelic drug bender.

We’ve got a first look at DSTLRY’s Galactic, which comes in a prestige 48-page edition with wraparound covers. Issue one features covers from Pinna, Tula Lotay, James Stokoe, and Dalton Rose. Check out the text solicit, covers, and preview pages below.

A hyper-kinetic blend of syncopated, blockbuster action and interstellar escapism, Galactic follows a roguish bounty hunter hired to retrieve a runaway princess on a psychedelic death-bender. What should be an easy payday escalates into a collision course with an intergalactic war—and maybe (just maybe) an unexpected romance along the way. Also: a talking dog named wolf pilots the starship.

The comic cover of Galactic features two lovers in space comic dual-page cover featuring an all-out laser shootout against tentacled and bug-like aliens and the bounty hunters comic cover of Galactic where behind the back of a bounty hunter he sees a lone straw hat man sitting atop a building.

“Galactic blends the gritty lovers-on-the-run crime of True Romance with the lush sci-fi worldbuilding of Star Wars and The Incal,” explains writer and co-creator Curt Pires. “This is just the first in a slate of amazing projects I’m building with my favorite new publisher,  all of them illustrated by world-class artists.”

Galactic

“On scope alone, this is one of the biggest projects I’ve illustrated,” continues co-creator and artist Amilcar Pinna. “Shifting from massive spreads of space fleets and black holes—perfect for DSTLRY’s oversized format—to staccato gunfights in celestial dive bars, Galactic is sci-fiction at its most dynamic and challenging.”

Galactic

“Galactic is one of the most refreshing pitches I’ve read in recent memory,” says DSTLRY CCO & Co-Founder Chip Mosher. “It is an unapologetically cool and irreverent excavation into science-fiction, rooted in the messy realism of human romance.”

“There’s nothing like Galactic on the shelves right now,” says DSTLRY Co-Founder & CEO David Steinberger. “Curt and Amilcar have built something equal parts explosive and heartfelt, everything DSTLRY stands for. This is fearless, widescreen storytelling at its finest.”

Galactic #1 by DSTLRY arrives in comic book stores and online retailers in May.
