Disney+ has released their slate of new releases and additions to the platform for April. Among the content Decider reports is coming to the streamer are a handful of Star Wars titles, including, at long last, the acclaimed Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series from Genndy Tartakovsky.

Along with Clone Wars, Disney+ will also bring both live-action Ewok movies — Caravan of Courage (aka The Ewok Adventure) and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor — as well as two seasons of the ’80s Ewoks animated series to the platform. Also of note is the addition of The Story of the Faithful Wookiee, aka the Boba Fett short cartoon from the Star Wars Holiday Special. How the short will be presented outside of the context of Itchy watching the cartoon during the special is unclear, but it’ll definitely be nice to see what is hopefully a nice-quality version of the short for the very first time.

Clone Wars Disney+

Debuting in 2003 and running until 2005, the original Clone Wars animated series consisted of a series of 25 episodes that filled in the gap between the beginning of the Clone Wars at the end of Attack of the Clones and the beginning of Revenge of the Sith. The animated series expanded on characters like Count Dooku and introduced new characters to the mythos like Asajj Ventress and General Grievous, the latter of whom played a large role in Revenge of the Sith. The series also established a framework on which the computer-animated Clone Wars series was built, expanding on themes and introducing even more new elements and characters to the Star Wars universe.

Clone Wars was also notable as the first new Star Wars animated project since the post-Return of the Jedi ’80s when both the Ewoks and Droids cartoons were on the air. With the former now coming to Disney+, hopefully the latter will join it soon and viewers’ Star Wars cartoon viewing experience can finally be complete.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars, as well as all the other aforementioned Star Wars content, will arrive on Disney+ on Friday, April 2nd.
