Harley Quinn Cartoon
Harley Quinn certainly has come a long way since first debuting as Joker’s sidekick in the acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series more than 25+ years ago. As the star of her own ongoing title it didn’t come as a surprise last October when Warner Bros. announced an original Harley Quinn cartoon as part of its DC Universe streaming service. Set to debut in the fall with Big Bang Theory‘s Kaley Cuoco voicing the titular character. I wouldn’t be surprised to see heavy promotion at SDCC and NYCC.
Over the weekend, comic creator Jimmy Palmiotti divulged some details about the animated series on social media. No stranger to Harley, Palmiotti with his wife and accomplished creator Amanda Conner wrote a fan-favorite run on the Harley Quinn title for nearly 4 years. Based on released images it’s safe to assume that the show is taking quite a few cues from their celebrated stint. According to Palmiotti, not only has Conner been involved in the animation process providing character turnarounds, but apparently the cartoon will feature a character Palmiotti/Conner created in the Harley Quinn title.

This isn’t Conner’s first foray outside of comics having provided artwork for an animated sequence in the last season of The Big Bang Theory just a few months ago.

As for which character to expect, your guess is as good as mine given the insane number of original creations Palmiotti and Conner introduced over the course of 4 years. What character are you hoping it to be—Bernie the Beaver? Harley Sinn/Constance Brand? Red Tool/Wayne Wilkins? Red Tool would certainly allow them to continue throwing shade regarding the infamously canceled Donald Glover Deadpool animated series.
Harley Quinn Cartoon

The adult animated comedy series follows Harley’s adventures, where alongside ragtag crew of DC castoffs, she tries to earn a seat at the biggest table in villainy: the Legion of the Doom. The strong voice cast for Harley Quinn also includes comedic talents such as Lake Bell (In a World…, Wet Hot American Summer series, Childrens Hospital), Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Ron Funches (Powerless), JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Jason Alexander (Seinfeld), Wanda Sykes (Black-ish), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Natalie Morales (Bojack Horseman), Jim Rash (Mike Tyson Mysteries), Diedrich Bader (Veep), Tony Hale (Arrested Development, Veep), Chris Meloni (Happy!, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit).

In addition to voicing the role of Harley Quinn, Cuoco is also an executive producer on the series through her Yes, Norman Productions, serving alongside Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey.
