Inklore teased something special on October 9 with a curious spiral icon. It turns out that the imprint was partnering up with Tiny Onion and founder James Tynion IV to kick start a new graphic novels program. This program will see a whopping 12-book deal which comprise of three original graphic novel series.
“I spend a lot of time thinking about the right home for each of my projects, and for years I’ve guarded a few of my favorites, letting the worlds cook into incredibly vibrant places that I’m desperate to introduce to comic readers,” Tynion said. “With Inklore, I have found the perfect partner to bring each of these new worlds to the printed page.”
Tynion is best known for being the co-creator of Something is Killing the Children, The Department of Truth, and The Nice House on the Lake. In February 2024, he announced that he would create a new production studio called Tiny Onion which will have an autonomous full-service editorial and design team. The studio’s goal is to identify and elevate creative partners, helping to curate and package titles before bringing them to their publishing partners.
The Most Beautiful People Who Never Loved Me will kickstart the program and is scheduled for release in 2028. The story follows a magician whose revolutionary performances bring him great professional success at a significant personal cost. It will be the first of three volumes.
Rebecca “Tay” Taylor, the editorial director at Inklore expressed great excitement at the collaboration. “James’s characters and their relationships to each other always drive his stories, no matter the genre. I cannot wait for Inklore readers to lose themselves in the heartbreak, propulsion, and joy of what Tiny Onion has in store for them.”
Inklore is also a similarly new imprint as it launched in June 2023. The impritn is dedicated to publishing both licensed and original manga, manhwa, manhua, webcomics, and graphic novels.
