Welcome to the Summer of Woe! Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) is making her much-anticipated return! Part 1 of Season 2 will premiere on August 6, 2025, with Part 2 arriving shortly after on September 3, 2025.
Below is a new teaser for Wednesday‘s second season, which certainly sets the stage for an exciting sequel to 12-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee Season 1! In the clip, Wednesday is seen going through airport security with a buttload of weapons (an entertaining scene for me, as I once saw a man at the Reno Airport doing exactly the same thing). Although in typical ‘Merica fashion, it’s not the weapons she gets in trouble for, it’s The Thing’s oversized bottle of sunscreen.
Nevermore Academy’s top teen sleuth will reunite with familiar faces, while also welcoming some exciting newcomers, including Joanna Lumley as Hester Frump, described as “Morticia’s complex mother and Wednesday’s closest ally,” and Steve Buscemi as Principal Barry Dort, who takes over after Principal Weems’ heroic demise in Season 1.
“This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore,” said creators and executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar in an exclusive interview with Tudum.
Gough and Millar continued, “We’re eager to delve deeper into Addams Family lore and introduce an eclectic cast of remarkable new characters.”
Cast members Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), and Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams) recently shared some insights in a featurette for Geeked Week 2024, alongside director and executive producer Tim Burton.
In the clip, Zeta-Jones teases, “This season is going to be bigger and more twisted than you can ever imagine.”
What is Season 2 of Wednesday about?
This Summer, Wednesday Addams is back for another round of supernatural escapades and spine-chilling enigmas, lurking through the eerie corridors of Nevermore Academy, where new challenges and surprises lie in wait. In Season 2, Wednesday will find herself juggling family dynamics, friendships, and old rivalries (Tyler is back!), all while diving headfirst into another year filled with her signature dark humor and quirky chaos.
Armed with her trademark deadpan delivery and sharp wit, she also gets entangled in a chilling new supernatural mystery. “Season 2 will be delightfully dark, kooky, and mysterious,” Gough and Millar have revealed. “If we told you why, Wednesday would kill us. So our lips are sealed.”
“The most exciting thing is being able to revisit her,” Ortega, a producer this season, told Tudum. “Wednesday Addams is one of the coolest characters of all time, so to have gotten the opportunity to play her once was incredible, and then to be able to slip into the costume and tone again, it’s so much fun. She runs circles around everyone that she has a conversation with, so to play someone who’s so much more intelligent than you will ever be, it’s quite funny and strange and enjoyable.”
Season 2 of Wednesday will premiere on Netflix in two parts on August 6 and September 3.
