As the comics distribution landscape continue to shift, Mad Cave has just announced an exclusive partnership with Lunar Distribution for comics shop distribution of all their imprints, including PapercutzMaverick, and Nakama Press. Mad Cave is distributed to bookstores by Simon & Schuster.

According to their pr, it was a “strategic move” to “enhance service reliability and support for retailers while ensuring seamless delivery of our titles to fans worldwide.”

“Lunar Distribution’s proven track record of on-time deliveries, exceptional retailer support, and commitment to excellence make them the ideal partner for Mad Cave Studios,” the release continued.

Mad Cave announced they would be adding Lunar to their comics shop distributors back in 2022. With Diamond’s announcement of bankruptcy and restructuring two weeks ago, like many publishers that were using both services, Mad Cave has opted to go with Lunar exclusively.

“Retailers are the backbone of our industry, and we are committed to providing them with the highest level of service and reliability,” said Mad Cave president Mark Irwin in a statement, President at Mad Cave Studios. “Lunar Distribution shares our values and vision for the future, and we’re excited to work together to bring our stories to more readers than ever before.”

“We are beyond excited to continue our relationship with Mad Cave Studios and take it to the next level,” said Christina Merkler, Co-Owner at Lunar Distribution in her own statement. “Mad Cave has consistently proven their ability to create engaging, boundary-pushing content that resonates with comic book fans worldwide. We look forward to working closely with them to bring their exceptional stories to an even wider audience.”

Although the announcement does not include a date for final cut off of orders from Diamond, Mad Cave has the regular final order cut-off coming for such high profile comic book release as Pop Kill #1 and Blade Forger #1 on February 3rd and 10th, and they encourage all retailers to place their orders through Lunar. Which I’m sure most retailers were already doing….
