Today, McDonald’s has announced a team-up with the popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen in order to launch the Special Grade Garlic Sauce. Arriving exclusively in the McDonald’s app beginning in one week, on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, you can get your first taste of the collab right here, today at Comics Beat!

Special Grade Garlic Sauce

The Special Grade Garlic Sauce is the first ever garlic sauce to be offered at McDonald’s USA restaurants.

According to the official press release, the sauce has a particular inspiration. “Inspired by the iconic Black Garlic Sauce from McDonald’s Japan, the Special Grade Garlic Sauce features notes of garlic and soy sauce, balanced with a slight tangy sweetness.”

This is the second new sauce to debut at McDonald’s in 2024. Earlier this year, the WcDonald’s Sauce celebrated the many anime and manga appearances of the fictionalized “WcDonald’s” franchise. This was accompanied by four weekly WcDonald’s original manga releases, with each entry illustrated by Acky Bright.

Did you had a chance to try the memorable WcDonald’s Sauce? Then we expect you also wake up in the middle of the night, haunted by the delicious flavor that now eludes you at the drive-thru window. Hopefully, the Special Grade Garlic Sauce will help heal the void.

Better yet, the Special Grade Garlic Sauce will come packaged with eight unique lid designs. Each one features a fan-favorite character from Jujutsu Kaisen, “from the powerful Sukuna to second grade genius sorcerer Megumi Fushiguro.” You can get a closer look at those designs in the gallery below.

If you order McNuggets through the McDonald’s app, you can get the Special Grade Garlic Sauce for free. Alternatively, you can order it through the app as a side for any meal. Furthermore, any Special Grade Garlic Sauce purchase comes with a code for a 30-day trial of Crunchyroll, to bring you even more Jujutsu Kaisen.

McDonald’s x Jujutsu Kaisen

Will you be heading to your local McDonald’s to try out the Special Grade Garlic Sauce when it arrives Tuesday next? Did you get a chance to try out the WcDonald’s Sauce earlier this year? What’s your favorite McNuggets sauce otherwise?
