Michael Allred’s beloved homage to superheroes will soon be republished in brand-new Omnibus editions from Dark Horse Comics, and today, The Beat has all the details. Debuting in June 2025, Madman Omnibus Vol. 1 will kick off a six-volume paperback printing of the seminal series with tons of bonus material.

Madman follows Frank Einstein as his superhero alter-ego, the titular Madman, on his adventures in Snap City. Channeling classic sci-fi and tapping into metaphysical philosophy, among other inspirations, Allred’s Madman debuted in Creatures of the Id in 1990 and has since seen several homes including IDW Publishing, Image Comics, Oni Press, and now, Dark Horse.

Madman Omnibus, Vol. 1 will include stories written and illustrated by Allred with colors by Laura Allred. It collects Madman 1-3, Madman Adventures 1-3, and Madman Comics 1-10. Bonus material includes the first-ever publication of Allred’s THEY!, pinups, and art from the likes of Frank MillerJack KirbyMoebiusFrank FrazettaEmily Carroll, and more.

Madman Omnibus, Vol. 1 will be available at bookstores on June 24, 2025, and at your local comic shop on June 25, 2025. It will retail for $49.99 and is currently available for preorder.

  1. These sound identical (down to the page count and the cover art) for the Madman Library Editions that Dark Horse released in 2021. Anything of significance changed/added?

  2. Agreed. “They” appears in the Library Editions, as well. I’ll guess these are the paperback versions of those.
