Peter Milligan, Duncan Fegredo, and Sherilyn Van Valkenburgh‘s classic Vertigo Comics series, Enigma, has found a new home. Dark Horse Comics announced today a new collection of the eight-issue series in a deluxe hardcover format. The new edition of Enigma will be presented as part of the Berger Books imprint at Dark Horse, and will feature a new cover by Fegredo, plus an assortment of development artwork by Fegredo that has never been seen before.
Enigma was one of the first titles published by DC’s Vertigo imprint when it launched under the supervision of editor Karen Berger in 1993. The series follows Michael Smith as he attempts to uncover the secret behind the characters from his favorite childhood comic book series, “The Enigma,” appearing to him in the real world as an adult.
Milligan, Fegredo, and Van Valkenburgh bringing Enigma to the Berger Books imprint, which launched back in 2017, is a natural fit given Berger’s involvement in the publishing of the original series. A collection of the series was last released in 2015, but has been out of print for some time.
