EC Comics has come back to life, thanks to Oni Press‘s resurrection in 2024. The recently revealed cover artwork of two new EC works, Epitaphs From the Abyss #3 and Cruel Universe #2, is a sight to behold. These two works mark the beginning of the partnership between Oni and EC, producing the first all-new EC Comics titles in almost 70 years.
Epitaphs From the Abyss #3, written by Chris Condon, Corinna Bechko, and Jay Stephens, and art by Charlie Adlard, Leomacs, and Jonathan Case will hit bookshelves in September 2024. The newly released Epitaphs cover art comes from the talents of Lee Bermejo, Tom Fowler, Jay Stephens, and Rian Hughes. Stephens contributed the EC Homage Variant, with Fowler illustrating the black and white artist edition and Hughes illustrating the archive edition variant cover.
The first two Epitaphs issues will be released in July, with the first arriving on July 24 and the second on August 21. The third issue of Epitaphs will be released on September 18, 2024. Each issue is priced at $4.99.
From down in the abyss and right up to the skies where only cruelty awaits, Cruel Universe #2 will feature the talents of Christopher Cantwell, Chris Condon, Stephanie Phillips, and Ben H. Winters penning the issue. Javier Fernandez, David Lapham, Leomacs, and Riley Rossmo will provide the artwork. Greg Smallwood and Rossmo will illustrate the two new covers of Cruel Universe #2, while Jay Stephens will illustrate the EC Homage Variant, Rossmo will illustrate the black and white artist edition, and Rian Hughes will illustrate the Archive Edition Variant cover.
Cruel Universe‘s first issue will be on sale on August 7, and issue #2 will be released on September 4.. Both issues are priced at $4.99.
