Over the last ten or so years, one thing has been guaranteed: where there are new ways of developing and progressing digital comics, there you will find David Gallaher. Writer for a variety of comics including High Moon, Box 13, Darkstar & The Winter Guard and Deadlands, Gallaher has been at the forefront of digital comics for years. Amongst others he was involved with the DC digital project Zuda, had the first original content published by ComiXology, and has recently successfully brought his new graphic novel Only Living Boy to Kickstarter.

by Alexander Añé -- One of the hot topics in the comics industry is the movement into the digital medium, and of course the biggest question in that migration is, "what's it going to cost?" Sunday afternoon at San Diego Comic-Con, the leading voices in this debate came together to discuss this topic: Mark Waid representing Thrillbent, Scott Kurtz the creator of PvP, IDW Publishing's ePublishing director Jeff Webber, Chris Ross attending as Top Shelf's director of digital publications, and moderating the panel is comiXology's Chip Mosher.

We can tell you already that comiXology is going to have a BIG show, and here's the first announcement: a new Simpsons-themed app for iOS devices which will roll out tomorrow with a specially chosen selection of Bongo-published Simpsons comics. Interestingly, the comics will NOT be day and date but rather go on sale a month after newsstands.

At the C2E2 comiXology panel it was confirmed that DC graphic novels are no longer being sold through Kindle Fire's comiXology app, and CEO David Steinberger said it was intentional. However the reasons are hidden behind many layers of NDAs. This is all odd because you can certainly still buy DC books via Amazon and their Kindle store. You can purchase tons of DC comics from comiXology, on the web and their IOS app. Apparently, you just can't buy DC Comics through the Kindle Fire comiXology app (we don't have a Kindle Fire handy to check).

ComiXology was the #11 grossing app on iPad for 2011 -- and they just announced a new beta storefront.
