As incredible as it is to believe, there is OTHER news today. Like a guest ACT-I-VATE strip called "Even Gorillas have Pride!" written by Stan Lee and drawn by Dean Haspiel for the PANELS FOR PRIMATES series.

Gerry Giovinco's blog is always worth reading, but here's a telling piece setting the two titans' accounts of the origins of Marvel side by side and coming to a conclusion:

Secret Headquarters, the LA- based comics shop, is selling some swell t-shirts, including this one featuring Stan the Man Lee which should fulfill both your hipness, homage, and fashion needs as we head into summer.

Looks like the NHL is pretty serious about these Stan Lee/Neal Adams superheroes. Above is the 2nd intermission show that was put on complete with video projections, a guy in a costume, a mysterious villain, and narration by Stan "The Man" Lee himself.

When it was announced that Stan Lee would be "creating" a bunch of superheroes to represent the 30 NHL hockey teams, it kind of whizzed by in the blizzard of such announcements of projects Lee was working on this year -- he's surely the world's busiest octogenarian. However, as the characters are unveiled in anticipation of this weekend's NHL All-Star Game where they will "come to life" via some unholy method, it's becoming clear that these characters may in fact be his Clarinet Quintet, his Black Paintings -- a twilight exploration of the themes that have preoccupied his work for a lifetime.

This video of Stan Lee being confronted with the original art for FANTASTIC FOUR #12 for the first time in 47 years or so (or if he did, he probably forgot) is undeniably touching. But it also contains secret clues to the biggest treasure trove of all, Robert Langdon!!!!
