Writer Torunn Gronbekk recently teamed up with artist Patrick Goddard for a new story in Battle Action, which is Rebellion Publishing’s war comics series, back now to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Each issue features an ongoing main story by Garth Ennis and Keith Burns about the fighter pilot Johnny Red, paired with a secondary back-up story by a different rotating team.
Gronbekk and Goddard’s story will appear in Battle Action #8, which is due out in the U.K. on March 26 and in the U.S. on April 30. The story is about Nina Petrova, fighting Russian (full story summary below), and Gronbekk liked it so much that she was moved to paint cover artwork for it. And today The Beat has the honor of exclusively revealing that painted artwork.

And then, in Nina Petrova: The Lucky Ones, writer Torunn Grønbekk and artist Patrick Goddard team up for a flashback! Nina must rescue Masha from a field hospital before the German invasion overruns the facility…

This is an unexpectedly excellent cover (unexpected because I didn’t know Torunn Gronbekk was an artist).
And such a good artist too. I love the cover and may well buy the book as a result. Nicely done Torunn.
