Hard to believe it’s been nearly a year since Annecy International Animation Film Festival took place. Among the highlights was the announcement of Get Jiro, an Adult Swim animated adaptation of s isbased on The New York Times bestselling DC/Vertigo graphic novels by writers Anthony Bourdain and Joel Rose with artwork by Langdon Foss and Alé Garza. Warner Bros. Animation (WBA), Cartoon Network Studios (CNS), and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe (HBSE) will once again take part in the global celebration of animation at the Annecy Animation Festival. In fact, not only will Warner Bros. Animation preview a first look at Get Jiro as well as Bat-Fam, but will also be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Cartoon Network Studios with a panel featuring visionary animators including Genndy Tartakovsky, Craig McCracken, Pendleton Ward, Rebecca Sugar, J.G. Quintel, and Adam Muto
In an official statement Sam Register (President, Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe) said:
“Annecy is the highlight of our year, and it’s an honor for Warner Bros. Animation to participate in such a meaningful way. I want to thank Marcel Jean and the festival leadership for entrusting us with this year’s trailer, and Ben Bocquelet for his creative vision. We look forward to our time at this year’s festival and celebrating this artform that we love so much.”
In addition Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe produced Annecy’s official 2025 trailer which features Bugs Bunny and other Warner Bros. iconic characters making their way to this year’s festival. The trailer was directed by Grant Orchard (Hey Duggee) with Ben Bocquelet (The Amazing World of Gumball) serving as executive producer.
