In case you weren’t aware, this year marks the 90th anniversary of Donald Duck. Disney honored the fowl with a new animated short last week. You can expect the celebration of everyone’s favorite temperamental duck to continue throughout the year. But I don’t think anyone would have expected a What If…? one-shot pondering the question What If…? Donald Duck Became Thor.
That’s right, Marvel has announced the crossover with Disney I don’t anyone could have expected. This isn’t the first time Marvel has crossed over with another Disney property resulting in another character wielding Mjolnir. Back in 2021, Disney+ released The Simpsons short The Good, the Bart, and the Loki where Lisa was able to lift the magical hammer leading to hilarious results.
The one-shot comes courtesy of writers Steve Behling and Riccardo Secchi and artist Lorenzo Pastrovicchi. In addition to the main cover by Pastrovicchi, variant covers by other acclaimed artists will also be available, most notably the legend himself, Walt Simsonson.
